On this day 66 years ago allied forces launched one of the most massive invasions onto an enemy force ever seen. It cause over 10,000 allied deaths in a matter of hours, but as well the beginning of the liberation of Europe from Nazi rule. In honor of those who gave there lives, those who left their families for battle fields on distant shores, and those who never received the recognition they deserved...
